How do I browse my feeds?
How LightWatch’s tabs and galleries work.
LightWatch has five tabs at the bottom of the screen. Each one gives you a different way into your feeds.
Tabs
Home shows a single gallery. By default it shows all your feeds, but you can change it in settings to show a specific feed, channel, or your bookmarks.
Bookmarks is your saved items.
Channels groups your feeds by interest. See How do I organize my feeds? for more.
Feeds lists every feed you subscribe to. Tap a feed’s title to open its gallery, or tap an item to jump straight to the focus gallery. This tab can be hidden in settings if you prefer to navigate through channels instead.
Search lets you search across your feeds.
The masonry gallery
The main view is a masonry grid. Tap any image to open it in the focus gallery.
If you have Group by Post turned on, posts with multiple images show a count in the corner. Tap the count to jump straight to that post in the focus gallery.
The focus gallery
The focus gallery shows one image at a time, full width.
- Swipe up and down to move between posts.
- Swipe left and right to move between images within a post.
- Tap the image to hide or show the interface.
- Pinch to zoom in.
At the top of the screen you’ll see a position indicator showing which image you’re on (e.g. “2 / 5”). Tap it to open a post picker where you can jump to any image in the post.
If you’ve scrolled down through several posts, an arrow button appears showing how many posts are above you. Tap it to jump back to the top.
At the bottom, you’ll see the feed name, post title, and date. From here you can bookmark the item, share it, or open the original post in Safari. For videos, playback controls appear here too.
