How does iCloud sync work?
Sync feeds, bookmarks, and settings across all your devices.
LightWatch uses iCloud to keep your data in sync across every device where you’re signed in with the same Apple Account.
What syncs
- Feed subscriptions and settings
- Channels and their feed assignments
- Bookmarks
- Filters and display preferences
What doesn't sync
LightWatch syncs your posts and bookmarks, but it stores references to images and videos, not the files themselves. Images and videos are fetched from their original URLs each time you view them. If the source removes the content, it won't load even if you've bookmarked it.
- Image and video files are not stored in iCloud — only their URLs and metadata.
- Scroll position is per-device and does not sync.
How it works
Sync happens automatically in the background. Changes you make on one device appear on your other devices shortly after. No setup required beyond being signed into iCloud. This also preserves your data when you upgrade to a new device or reinstall the app.
